GTX 670 FTW good enough for 120HZ Monitor? Which one?

Hi, I am building a new gaming desktop and have been considering getting a 24" 120HZ monitor, I will mainly be playing Battlefield 3 with this computer.

My current CPU/Cooler/GPU setup:
i5-3570K(3.4GHz)
Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212(I heard from user of this combo he can OC to 4.2-4.4 easily)
EVGA GTX670 FTW (can't find ASUS GTX 670 Top on Newegg/Amazon, not sure if it is significantly better than FTW)

Is this set up good for a 120HZ monitor(no OC)? Would I be better of with a 60Hz or IPS? How much do I need to overclock to successfully use 120HZ?

I don't see MSI GTX670 Power Edition's supposed "Advantage" from the comparison above(see link), if by that you mean 13 extra Mhz in the stock clock I counter with FTW's higher boost clock(+5) and effective memory clock(+200). Both are custom overclocked GTX670 with about the same stat and I chose the one with more reviews(thus track record).

Still, my main question is whether my graphic card is good enough for 120Hz monitor?

p.s I woudln't put too much stock into that 9.7 review score, looking through the link the MSI was compared to a stock(which it would clearly be better than) and a 680(which all 670 compares favorable against in price/performance ratio), it wasn't compared against either FTW or ASUS Top version of GTX 670 which are regarded as the best GTX670 performance models, so much so that FTW have over 200 reviews on newegg(the OCed MSI only have about 30) and ASUS top 670 already sold out on newegg and can't be easily found elsewhere.

Well the thing your missing is it can overclock further than the FTW's and runs cooler but anyway if your refering to the newegg reviews i won't bother if you think those mean anything :lol: and yes it's good enough 😉

Where is the evidence of MSI OC version runs cooler than FTW? Was those two tested in a review, if so I don't see one. I mentioned the newegg reviews to show that FTW outsold MSI 200+ vs 30, if MSI is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better then why is it not selling as well?

What I see under the 9.7 review:

Could be quieter under load
Memory not overclocked
Dynamic OC can't be turned off
Manual overclocking more complicated than before

Not impressed without a direct comparison against FTW.

Evga is known for great customer service and is available in more states than the MSI PE it also cost less so that would stand to logic as to a few reasons why it would be selling better if that's even true and what makes you think it sells better where is the proof newegg reviews mean nothing there not to be taken as legit and creditable lol look at the asus top reviews there horrible on newegg yet every professional reliable legit testing site say it's one of the best if not the best 670 you can get anyways i am not to going waste time argue your question has been answered yes it will game fine on the 120HZ take care, happy gaming!

Yes, the 670 is enough for 120Hz. Any fps on 120Hz will look smoother than on 60Hz.

He answered the question on first reply without forcing me to buy another GTX670 variant,ofc that's the best answer. The "which one" in the title refers to 120Hz monitor, not GTX670 variants.

It is as good as the ASUS Top at BF3(the only one of the 3 tested game I will be playing), and not significantly worse in the other 2. Not to mention the FTW have EVGA's customer support(MSI don't cross ship and don't offer something like the EVGA "step up".) I might chose PE in the end, but not because it is significantly better than FTW.
