Hey, I've been working on picking the best parts for my PC for some time now and am having trouble of which graphics card/s would best suit my needs. I am into games such as BF3 and ARMA II and am playing on only 1 screen but I have a second monitor so I can have youtube or editing/recording software or something running ect, (So i can use my computer whilst gaming really.) I've had 2 graphics cards in mind now, the toxic and the 680 (Sli) The sapphire toxic from what I hear is excellent for running multiple monitors but when it comes to gaming on a single monitor the 680's are better. Can someone please help me choose (or suggest a graphics card that would be better than both of these) which would be better for my specific setup. He are my current specs without a graphics card included. Also I dont really want to overclock so I probably wont, If that changes the results at all.

I am legitimatly on the fence, I made this new thread because the other was verifying my build really and I wanted to creat a thread specifically about graphics card under the graphics section because I wanted toleave the other 1 open about all the components not jus graphics cards and it was starting to get full of graphics talk. Also I figured any other computer pros who want to help people with graphics would search the graphics section. Sorry for multi threads but this is a lot of money for me to pay and I wanna make sure everything is perfect

No problem that's makes sense and is understandable

how's your 'monster' rig going for ya.?
I see where you stated the GPU's have about paid for themselves...
kewl..

Doing well thus far thanks for asking

I've taken out the GTS 450 and replaced it with two Radeon HD 5850s as I have come to find PhysX to be useless. So I've got two 7970s and two 5850s. When I launch OpenCL apps they combine into one large parallel processing beast.

I've been thinking about replacing the 5850s with 7950s instead. Two Gigabyte Windforce models. With the $800/mth I make right now from mining I could buy some nice Graphics cards to add to the current lot. Fun times I say.

Like I said, your monitor does not support AMD HD3D, it is made for Nvidia 3D Vision 2. Forget about the Toxic, unless you bitcoin or something that requires opencl.

dude that's just sic....
what about the third 7970 in tri-fire or not.?
new case as well now.?
I hear the 'Giggle-Bytes' Windforce can be buggy so diligent searching on that, but I know you will..
with all these spare parts you have another rig for some 24/7 mining/ Folding...
(if you wish of course..)

impressive..

You can make money from bitcoin mining?

yes you can join a pool so you get shares if the pool gets the new 50bc. but it eats a lot of watts so maybe he is making 800 per month but pays 100 per month for electricity as the card array is running 24/7 :)

i mean 4*300W(2*5850,2*7950)*24*30=864kW*0,2eur=174eur

Well you see the thing is hes all for the other team even though he says he has 680 and 7970 it's quite clear hes riding that red team to the fullest which makes me wonder if they really even have 680 sli :sarcastic:

ok is 2x 680 SLI a good way to go or is it a super waste of money, If its 10+FPS better than 670s SLI than its worth the extra money in my opinion. I know you gave me the benchmarks but I prefer verifying all my things with people over statistics because, well I dunno 😛 I Don't always trust em and people know more about it for my specific needs and other specs of my comp.

Oh, and I dont have a sound card on that build because apparently I dont need it, but i'll be using Razer Tiamats True DD 7.1 SS and i thought Id ask a few other people if a sound card is necessary.
