Hey,

So I started looking at upgrading my GPU due to me noticing that I was sometimes going under 60 fps (getting around 45 fps sometimes) in certain games on ultra during streaming. So I looked around at the newest graphics cards from Nvidia and I think that gtx 980 is the best one that it offers for now.

So my question is... is it worth getting the GTX 980 to replace the GTX 690 or will there not be a big difference in fps?

If 'Yes', then should I have Dual SLI GTX 980 or not?

Additionally if I get the GTX 980 or the SLI GTX 980 should I upgrade my power source? (Price does not matter).

Furthermore, is it maybe better to wait until a newer card comes like the GTX 980 ti or something similar?

Games that I want to play on ultra on 60+ fps while streaming:
BF4
CS:GO
Dayz
Dying Light
The Crew

My Specs:
Nvidia GTX 690 4GB
i7-4770K
64 Bit Windows 7
Asus formula IV
Power: AX860

Yes and no. The difference won't be great between one gtx 980 and 690. If you plan on sliing 980, then the prospect becomes a bit more interesting, but probably an overkill unless you plan on gaming at 4k. I think sli 970 would be a much better value and you would get much better performance than a 690 @ less than $700.

Seeing as price seems to mean little to you then go with the 980 SLI. One 980 is about even give or take with the 690.. so 2 980 about double the zip you have now... As for the power supply the 980 SLI will use less power than your 690 that is one of the nice things about the new gen.

Thent

Thank you guys for the quick response.
After doing a little more research and looking at what you guys were saying it seems like its not fully worth changing from the 690 to the 980. It would only be worth it if i would do it in SLI. I checked and sources say that the 990 and a new Titan will come out early 2015/meaning next month or so with 8GB and more... so I think I will simply wait a month or so and get SLI GTX 990s
