gTX 750 ti for gaming

Solution

These FPS I will show you is playing on a 1080p monitor. So you will get a slight increase in FPS on your current monitor.
Arma 3 : 41 FPS - High settings.
BF4 : 36 FPS - Ultra settings.
Far Cry 3 : 40 FPS - High settings.
Metro LL : 50 FPS - Medium settings.

Seen as you are on a lower res for now, you will be able to play all these games on High settings, with 45+ FPS. You can easily get 55-60FPS if you change some settings.

The GTX 750ti wil be perfect for you.
The GFX card is more expensive than your screen - if that's the best res your screen can do - upgrade it - don't buy the card to match the screen...buy the screen to match the card. You don't drop a big block in your car only to drive it at 20 miles per hour!

It is up to you what you do. Either screen or GPU. What I did was get my GTX 760 and then upgrade my monitor and it worked well for me. Playing at 1366x768 will be really decent for that card as it is aimed more towards 1080p gaming, with somewhat decent framerates on Med and High settings. As the 750ti is more of a budget GPU you cant expect a solid 60FPS on every game at good settings but it is a decent card. It is your choice to upgrade GPU or monitor now. A better monitor will look a lot better though.

Good summary!

The 750 Ti is about the same speed as the older GTX 580, so it'll run very well at 1366x768, and still be
pretty good even if you do upgrade the monitor to 1080. Has the advantage of low power consumption,
low noise, small size for easy fitting, etc.

Only down side is it can't be used in SLI, but then that's not a natural road to go down when gaming
at such a low res anyway (SLI works better at higher resolutions).
