Bought a GTX 760 Jetstream coming from an R9 270X...and now i cant install the drivers...

Tried the DDU thinggy and delete the amd and nvidia drivers and it still does the error...it says its incompatible

tried the device manager hardware id thinggy and it says installation failed

My os was Windows 7 64 bit and just upgraded to windows 10 and still doesnt work

when i go to device manager and check display adapters it shows standard vga thinggy (aka onboard graphics of my i5 3470)

Specs:
Intel Core i5 3470
8gb HyperX DDR3 Ram
Palit GTX 760 Jetstream 2GB
ECS H61H2-M17

i just wanna pull out all my hair and throw my cpu into the trash...

EDIT: Yep i tried other versions too...

the PSU should have enough juice to power the card and everything else - according to the label and assuming the PSU is fully functional.

the DVI to VGA should be working fine, the ports are the right ones - interleaved so it carries both digital and analog. VGA is analog only.

if you use the HDMI slot that is a digital signal only, if the monitor has HDMI in you are good. you CANNOT convert HDMI to VGA without a dedicated signal converter, a simple adapter will not do the job.

you have shut down the system, moved the video cable to the GPU and booted the system? I had assumed you had, if not do so now. when you do what was the result? you get no display but let the system go give it 3-5 minutes and see if windows boots and auto loads the base driver?

Is this a bad sign

that looks like water damage to me. and not just splashed with water and quickly dried off either.
it was wet long enough for the copper traces to start corroding and turning green.
some of the gold contact pins have holes eaten through them.
there appears to be hard water stains on the back of the card.

when you took it to the shop you did watch it boot up? or did the guy take it in the back and come out saying its fine?

Came out saying its fine...welp...seems like the card is dead...More likethe issues like no display but fans are spinning...thanks for the help guys...i appreciate it...gonna sell it for $20
