Hello there, first post here ever, yay.

Also, added a video of me playing Skyrim with higher settings now, easiest to hear the sound is during the last 20 ish seconds, where I pause/unpause the game, (pause also stops the sound).

(The sound, kind of a "buzzing sound" isn't as bad as it was with the older one, but you can hear it every now and then, I alt-tabbed every now and then to desktop from TERA)

So, to the point, a few weeks back, I bought a GTX 760, Asus version, from a local store. It started to make a loud noise after a few days, if I remember correctly. This sound only occurs in games. If I'm running the game in full screen and alt-tab to my desktop the sound stops. I returned the GTX 760 and got a NEW ONE back. They said they tested my 760 there during the weekend and they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. The new GTX 760 still makes the sound.

While the 760 was being checked, I had my 650 TI plugged in, and it didn't have any problems nor did it make any sound. I've had it for like 1 - 2 years now.

It seems, the more demanding the game, the noisier the sound. I tried it in TERA and the sound wasn't that bad, but I could still hear it thru my headphones. Also tried ESO, not that bad. Tried Skyrim, with HD DLC and HD texture pack, 2K-4K textures, and the sound is pretty bad.

I also checked my temps and GPU usages etc. and there was nothing out of the ordinary, while playing.

Sorry, now, with the new GPU, the sound is alot smaller in Skyrim aswell, but still distinguishable. I'm afraid it'll just get bigger and bigger and cause damage.

My specs:
- Power supply, 600W OCZ600SXS
- Old gpu Asus GTX 650 TI 1GB, new one Asus GTX 760 2GB
- Motherboard, Asus M5A78L/USB3
- CPU, AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core 4.20 GHz
- 8GB Ram, can't remember what, ask if u need to know.

I think it was at default/normal of 29% or just slightly higher. I'm uploading a video of me in Skyrim, where you can hear it better, especially at the end, where I'm pausing and resuming the game. sorry for the bad video.

The little bit I could hear was very faint. It sounded like a rhythmic buzzing but was very quiet.

This *could* be the cooling fan motor. On a new GPU with ball bearing fans this is not unusual and should get quieter as the fans break in.
This *could* also be faint coil whine. This is from rapid voltage phase switching causing small VRU parts to rapidly expand and contract with temperature changes. This is harmless but annoying. It can me minimized or eliminated by making sure you have Vsync on and trying graphics settings that keep a more consistent load on your GPU.

if that's coil whine i wouldn't be concerned one iota, unless it gets louder of course.
It is no way indicative of a failing card. I assume it's the same theory that applies to psu's, but on a lower scale. The coil wrapped arround ferrite core is loose and when switching a harmonic resonance is created causing the coil to vibrate, thus creating coil whine.
