GTX 760 on 1440x900 resolution

Hey guys! So 2 days ago i asked in a post should i buy the GTX 970 for my 1440x900 res so i can max out every game today and in the near future, but most people said that it will be a total overkill. So my question is did i make the right choice with the GTX 760 (Asus DirectCU II)? Thanks!
P.S I'm currently with a GTX 650 Ti and i can't play AC Unity even on lowest settings.

In most other games you'd easily be running very high/ultimate on that monitor with a gtx 760. The problem is Ac Unity, its just downright hard on a gpu, any gpu is going to suffer, so while you'd get better fps with a 970 over a 760, it will only be viable for that game and 1 or 2 others. I play skyrim heavily modded with 4k textures and close to 70 mods on a 1080p with a gtx 660Ti and still average 52fps at 63° max, ultimate settings. Your 760 is stronger still. It was a good buy and overall won't hurt you, and will be good for your monitor resolution.

If and when you do decide to upgrade your monitor to a larger resolution or Hz, that will be the the time to think about a 970.

There are a lot of games that should fine on your GTX760 especially if you tweak them.

However, AC Unity is hardly the only game to be demanding and games will just get even more so. So saying the GTX970 is "overkill" is wrong unless you specify which game specifically it's overkill for.

So I can't really answer your question except to recommend sticking with the GTX760 but perhaps do a little research to see how a game will run on your setup first.

Also, since we don't have the original post your CPU might have had some impact on recommendations. If it was too weak it might have tended to be a bottleneck.
