Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Apologies in advance if this isn't structured right, this is my first time posting to a forum.
My name is Anthony, and I am having one hell of a time trying to figure this stuff out. So about 2 years ago I entered the PC gaming community when I bought the Lenovo Erazer X510 (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/erazer/x-series/x510/#tab-tech_specs), now that I want to upgrade my GPU, I have to enter the world of PC hardware, and I'm already lost. The graphics card I want to buy is the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-6173-KR), and after about 3 hours of research and confusion, I have just about answered all my questions, except one. What do I do about power connector pins? My current card, a GeForce GTX 760 (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications) takes 2 6-pins, and the 1070 takes an 8-pin. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Do I get an adapter that will allow me to use my already existing cable on the 1070? Or is there a different cable that will hook up to my power supply that I need to get?
I'm sure this is a dumb question, with a simple solution. I just don't know where to find it. Thank you for helping me.
