Paired with a 770 with is probably ok but to be honest I’d go higher. Quad core is entry level these days and equivalent to modern i3’s. What is the price difference if you go Ryzen 1600/2600?
I expect you will want to upgrade the 770 soon, it’s really falling behind now. You want a cpu that can keep up with a modern gpu.

I'd not start a new rig on a 100/200 series mainboard ...unless you find a Z270/7700K combo on awsome fire-sale prices...
The GTX770 roughly matches the GTX960, i.e., it is going to need lowered settings at 1080P on the BF1/BF5, etc...
R5-2600/B450 combos are quite popular these days for a reason....you will likely be wanting to price a GTX1660 /RX580 into the mix as well soon enough....
ok I'll look into the cheaper of the two but I don't know to be honest
