Hey guys, simple question: I have a friend who got a new computer and wants to sell his EVGA (3GB) GTX 770 card and I wanted to know is the about $90 price difference worth a 970 or is the 770 a good deal. Thanks (I don't care about the memory difference)

Solution
Spend the extra money on the 970. You will thank yourself down the road. It looks like on eBay the 770s are running anywhere from about $225-$275 (US dollars). As a current 970 owner, I would not even hesitate spending more on a 970 even if it required making a few sacrifices to cough up the difference. While the 970 is more than necessary for games at 1080p and the magical 60fps, that likely will change in the next year or two with new games, as it always does. Irrespective of the fact that like the guy above says, Nvidia will continue supporting it with updates for a few more years.

970 definitely. The 970 even outperforms the 780 in some cases. 970 for the following reasons:

1. AMAZING power usage
2. More memory
3. Its the latest so more frequent driver and game updates for it
4. People will be way more impressed when they see you have a 970 than a 770

without question.I would definitely go for the newer 970 card.i have a gtx760 and am planning on getting one myself.Newer chipset, better performance and lower power consumption and the extra memory doesn't hurt either.you can never have to much vram.ha!...Oh yeah, they look pretty bad ass as well....raykat
