Hi everyone so I have a GTX 770 and it has been running strong still but I am now noticing I have to turn certain settings down in some games (Far Cry 4 for example) in order for it to run smooth or else it's really shaky and unstable to play at very high graphical settings.

I was wondering if getting the GTX 980 would make a huge difference and how long would a GTX 980 last in the future to be able to run all new upcoming games at max settings?

I play on 1080p monitor by the way as well.

Thanks!

You decide:

I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel, and you may not even notice any worthwhile difference in performance.

980 = Tier 3
770 = Tier 5

Onlya jump of 2 tiers.

Adding another 770 would be faster than a single 980 in the more demanding games.

Crysis 3 gets 51.1 fps with a 980

Crysis 3 gets 67 with twin 770s

Ofcourse, that's why I posted an image with both the 770 and the 980 listed. Don't understand where you are going here....

Look again, the 980 and 770 are compared with over 30 other cards. Both of the cards he is considering (980 and 770) are in the chart

980 = 100%
770 = 66%
