So I ordered a new config which consists in a i5 4430, a GTX 780, all on a H87-D3H motherboard.
Is my current PSU sufficient or is there any risk? I've gathered elsewhere that it usually stays below 550W when not OC, so I should technically be fine, right?

It has dual 12V rails with only 22A and 23A each, which is not enough. Get a quality PSU with a single 12V rail with sufficient amperage. The 780 requires 42A and a suggested 600W PSU.

One suggestion is the HX750 which is one sale right now for $89 after coupon code EMCPEWA23 and rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010

It has 62A on a single 12V rail, and will power any future single card you would use.

Hmm do you have any other possibility? My local vendor doesn't have one of those.

Any PSU that is 600W or more AND has at least 42A on a single 12V rail. Anything that fits this description will work.

Would a CX600m do the trick? It claims to have a 12V rail, 600W wattage, and 46A amperage. Or perhaps I'm reading it wrong.

Yep. That's fine.

So the one I posted isn't? From some posts on forums it says it is (albeit not the best). I'd rather get that one since it's cheaper. I'll get what you're proposing if there's no other choice, but I'm rather dry now what with the 780 and all.

I'm pretty sure that would work. I've seen other builds with it that have a haswell cpu.

If you want to check some other PSU's just in case - XFX, Antec, Seasonic, other Corsair models (HX, GS, etc) are all quality brands. The CX series is supposed to be for budget builds.

I found a Corsair VS650 which is even cheaper for some reason even though it supplies 650W and has a 12V rail with 50A amperage. It seems to be even better, but it's cheaper. Where's the trick? Would it work?

Apparently the VS series is for 240v inputs... which I guess means it's for Europe? From what I read we don't use that in the US, so that PSU is not marketed here. I'm not sure where you are from though, so it might work?

France, so yeah it's 220V outputs here, not sure if that means it would work.
I guess I'll take the CX600M to be safe I think, it only costs 10€ more and if that's the price to pay for serenity, so be it.
600W is said to be the minimum for a GTX 780, though. Does that mean it could cause problem if I want to upgrade my CPU in the long term?

Nah, wattage is always overatted for the requirements. The important thing is the amperage.

Your system will probably only draw 400-475W under full load.

I was just reading about the voltage inputs, and if you order the cx600m you might have to flip a voltage switch. I have no idea though. In the US we use 120v inputs. It might be safer for you to buy the VS PSU, unless you can confirm the cx600m works on 220v input.
