GTX 780 SLI or GTX 970 SLI

so im planning to upgrade my pc around may 2015 but i'm still deciding whether to get another GTX 780to make it SLI or to simply get 2 GTX 970.is there a big performance difference between these two or is the 970 SLI is only slightly better than the 780 SLI?

i would recommend for the gtx 970 sli

as the gtx 970 supports newer tech

If it won't be a problem, l'd sell the GTX 780 and get two GTX 970.
Reasons:
#1 As said above, DirectX 12
#2 204 Maxwell architecture
#3 Much more power efficient
#4 Cheaper.
#5 Both of the cards will be new
Out of all that you can plainly see that getting the GTX 970 is going to be MUCH more future proof.
