It's lead varies from game to game, but the 780ti outperforms the 970 in every game I've seen so far. You can google up some benchmarks if you want to see specific comparisons.

The 780ti is generally faster but not by much, Overclockignt eh 780ti and the 970 will both give excellent results.

Simply put exactly as above, the 970 uses less power, supports all the new features and it`s just as fast, while costing less.
