GTX 850m 4gb DDR3 VS GT 750m 2gb gddr5

I know that the gtx 850m is the better card overall but since I play all of my games in at least full HD resolution, will the ddr3 bottleneck the gpu so much so that the gt 750m is the better choice?Also could you please outline any advantages that each has over the other?

Do you have the option of the 2gb gddr5 850M? That appears to be the best option, especially for games that will stay in the 1080p resolution.
The 4gb option is a real shame, I'm guessing the ddr3 was both a cost and power savings measure. Not like any gaming laptop is meant to be under heavy gaming for long without being plugged in.

The 750M with roughly the same system configuration comes in at something like 60%-70% of the performance of even the Gddr3 equipped 850m.

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately I don't have the gddr5 option 🙁. And I'm pretty sure its essentially a 2gb ddr3 card anyway because of the memory interface haha. I am considering buying the dell inspiron 7447 for both heavy gaming and video editing purposes in a laptop under $1000. Thanks for the links as well. If you have any better options I would be grateful, however I live outside the US so sometimes the prices can be higher.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 850m at all, the 750m would be noticeably slower than either.

I've seen a lot of good deals on Lenovo Y series gaming laptops and the MSI ones, that might be regional though?

Alright, I will go ahead with the gtx 850m then. I'm looking forward to playing Metro Last Light haha

It should be an awesome laptop. The difference between laptop and desktop gets less and less each generation.
