Would this gtx 950 specifically be ok with a 300 watt psu?

if your going to game and want to keep you pc safe swap out the stock 300w unit. most of those low end units cant outpiut what there stamped. pick up a evga 500/600b or a good 500w power supply to be safe.

But isnt this card meant to be for a low psu

Just because you can use a lower wattage doesn't mean you should. If you had a very low wattage CPU and nothing else in your PCI slots, and an SSD, then perhaps 300W could be enough, but as stated above, something in the 500W range would be ideal. PSU's aren't something you want to stress that often...

This card should work, as it doesn't have a 6-pin power connector and can only draw 75W maximum.

Yeah my cpu I think is a problem its a Intel i7 4770

Some have had luck at 300w with it others have had to jump to 400w to 450w , with that card.
