I ordered r9 270x and cancelled it ,almost waited for a month for the GTX 960(cos some said it will be awesome and it will be in equal to the performance of r9 280) so i waited for the 960 to get released,i asked for the comparison when it was not released so some said that let it get released and then compare the cards so now it is released and

Which is better R9 270x or GTX 960

My system specs:
Processor - FX 6300
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA 970A DS3P
RAM - 8 GB Corsair vengence
PSU - Antec 600W

Ignore the bus. BENCHMARKS tell you everything you need to know.

(for one thing the video data is compressed losslessly across the memory bus where ROP units decompress it to minimize bus size)

No idea of India pricing. I checked Flipkart but it's not listed yet.

Also not sure why you specifically want MSI as it's not necessarily the best one. I currently recommend the EVGA 1.28GHz model which is currently $210 (cheapest card is $200) in the USA.

The GTX960:

1) is slightly faster

2) consumes less power, and is quieter (some or all will have the ability to turn off the fans completely in light usage)

3) has a hardware encoder to record or stream gameplay video with minimal performance drop (5% or less)

4) can improve performance slightly using MFAA for supported games (more coming)

5) has a few other new features most won't care about (H.265 encoder, voxel lighting support, 4K @60FPS via HDMI 2)

THIS is an average of 20 games:

Looks nearly IDENTICAL to a base GTX770 / GTX680 once slightly overclocked (which is easier to do than a GTX770/680 so pretty comparable).

I'd probably recommend the Asus Strix or EVGA without a lot more info. Note there will be different frequencies as well (i.e. 1.05 GHz, 1.10 GHz etc)

Recommended cards:

or

*Note I'm recommending the 1.28GHz model as there are other EVGA models. Both these should auto disable the fans.

(Both should be nearly identical though I find the Asus Strix ugly)

Thanks for the info and nvidia gtx 960 has 128bits whereas r9 270x has 256bits,what does this refer to i dont know anything abt this so more bits is good or less bits is good ?
And any idea of price and availability of MSI GTX 960 in india ???

While browsing abt the r9 270x cards many said MSI will be good and it has the best cooling, silent technology and good for OCing so i thought MSI will be good for GTX 960 too,and i heard that the after sale service is also good in MSI in India , isnt MSI best ???

the best? cannot tell. all brand can have defective/failure card
but major brand tends to have much better QC.. lower chance to get bad one..

MSI, from my experience.. they After sales quite good..

my card have some problem with RMA (warranty claim) thing first at local MSI rep..
but after I complaining and etc.. they replace with new/refurbish one..
so quite happy with them...

Graphics bit GPU is not memory its graphics processing bits r270x is a higher range gtx960 is entry medium level r270x is medium high end there is no way a 128 bit card will ever beat a 256bit card as it can can render pixals quicker a and video and transfer faster. You make the choice and find out.

watch review and you'll find the truth, 960 beat 270X in most games
