So I have an Antec 450w PSU, and I will upgrade if needed but I'd rather not, (I sound like one of those people I know) which would be best, GTX 960, R9 280/X or 285? I have a 6300 dont plan to oc. or just wait for the 300 series cards from AMD (if they get released this century)

I had looked for a place that said that, but every card I looked at said 750W and 1000 for CFX. I am sure it can run fine on a quality 550W power supply, as long as it has the required connectors.

I think it also depends on the manufacturer. I have a Gigabyte 280X and the instructions clearly state it needs a 500W min.

Planning to buy a Gigabyte WF R9 280X. Which PSU you would choose among this below with the possibility of overclocking the GPU.

+12V specs:
CM CX600 V2: 40A @ 480W (3rd tier)
CM Thunder: 47A @ 564W
CM G550M: 42A @ 504W (3rd tier)
Thermaltake 630W Smart: 45A @ 540W (4th tier).

If you plan on overclocking or crossfiring then you should get the strongest PSU possible. Remember that a 500W PSU really isn't actually 500W... it's slightly lower. The first PSU I ever bought was 550W... and when I decided to build my first system, instead of keeping that 550W unit I opted to get an 800W unit instead because I knew it would come in handy at some point in the future, especially if I wanted to run two cards in my computer and I didn't want to go through the trouble of replacing my PSU.
