which would be good for high end gaming these days
I want to play watch dogs and ac unity etc.
Which one will give me more fps at ultra setting.
Does r9 270x really worth the 4gb vram.
I am only using one screen at 720p to 1080p.

Solution
GTX 960 is the clear winner in that comparison.

R9 280X is a narrow winner over the GTX 960 for performance if you don't mind having a slightly louder card, that uses more electricity.
Its ok mate. I know you know your stuff. Its easy to do. Just made me smile.

Here is the popular overclocked MSI gaming edition of GTX 960 vs the Sapphire 4GB edition of R9 270X.

So yeah, there is a gap in performance.

EDIT: Although if you game at a higher resolution than 2560x1440 then the extra 2GB of the R9 270X will make it better for 4K. Most people only play at 1920x1080 though.

Thank you xd yeah i'm laughing quite a bit now, yeah "crossfire edition" obviously better since it costs twice as much, cheers

Agreed. Even then I would take the GTX 960 over the R9 280. Its only the R9 280X that can consistently outperform the GTX 960 in that cheaper AMD range. Although the slightly more expensive R9 290 is extremely good if you have a high quality power supply to power it.

As far as new cards coming out we won't see anything until around June when the AMD R9 370X should be able to beat the GTX 960 as well as be cheaper, but thats just personal opinion from me. AMD 370X specs, release date and price are not even known.
