Gtx 960 vs R9 280x vs R9 285???

Hi there,

Im planning to upgrade my GPU today. Im thinking about these 3 models: R9 280X or R9 285 from AMD or GTX 960 from NVIDIA. Which one should I buy?

My build:

Phenom II X3 720 @3.00Ghz ------- Will OC it with a 212 Evo.
Radeon HD 4850
450 Watt Cooler Master PSU ------ Thinking about changing it. Any suggestions accepted.

Elite 332 Case from CM.

I was leaning through AMD because of Mantle (I think it will remove some of the bottleneck from CPU)
I was thinking about GTX because of efficiency.

I will upgrade my build with a core I5 in a year.

I want 60+ fps on high settings at top titles like BF4 GRID ...
And can my MOBO handle all 3 gpus?

First you need to upgrade your PSU to a good one.

Next, from more to less powerful GPU: R9 280X, R9 285, GTX960.

GTX 960 is not worth the money you pay.

r9 280x is the best 1 among them . faster and 3gb memory .. seasonic psu 80+ certified would be good like s12 or m12 series

if u are buying r9 280x == seasonic s12 620w / corsair cx600w (if u are too tight on budget )
and if u are buying gtx 960 = seasonic s12 520w

Hi there I highly recommend you upgrade you're CPU before you decide to get a new graphics card the Phenom II X3 720 @3.00Ghz will not have enough juice power any GPU past the GTX 750ti thus you will get GPU bottleneck so the graphics card potential will be far less as good as it could be also the 450 PSU is not good enough get a 750 watt PSU there cost nothing rearly I upgraded from the Phenom 2 X4 955 and the upgrade to FX 8320 was huge hope this helps
