hi,
I'm probaly gonna sell my ps4 because i don't use it that much. Because of that I will have a budget of around 300 for a new Gpu.
So i'm looking at the GTX 960 4GB, R9 380/380x 4GB. I know that the 380 and 380x are more powerfull but the GTX 960 doesn't use as much power so i don't need to upgrade my PSU (which is 450w) i will upgrade my psu to 550w for 69 euro's (i live in the Netherlands)
I just don't have the money for a 970 or 390. What is my best option? The 380x isn't a lot better than the 380 but i'm not upgrading for 4 years so it has to be good in the future and 20 euro's isn't a big difference.
Should i just get an 380x? Thanks in advance.

Yeah you can expect the r9 380x to run it on ultra at around 50-60 FPS without a problem (1080p that is). In 2 years time...
Power increase by the 380x is not really that large unfortunately. If you want it to last 4 years, then I am afraid you need at least r9 390, else you will find yourself having to run everything in lower settings in the next years. That said, if you really can't afford the r9 390 and 20 euros is not that big of a difference for you, then I would suggest getting the r9 380x. Also what is your full system spec?

Cpu: Intel Core i5 4440
Ram: 8GB
1 TB harddrive and an Samsung 250 gb ssd

Well, can it play on med-high settings for the next 2 years?
And could it play fallout 4 right now on Ultra 40-60 fps?

I recommends going with the 4GB R9 380X. Its a capable 1080P card you can buy at the moment. With this card I expect it to last for 2 years or so that allows you to play most games close to max settings at 1080P still gives you good fps.

Yeah you can expect the r9 380x to run it on ultra at around 50-60 FPS without a problem (1080p that is). In 2 years time you will have to drop to medium and after that to low settings but it will run every new game.

Is 550w enough btw?

Got another question, what is the best R9 380x to buy? The xfx version in the Netherlands costs 220 euro's on Alternate so yeahh. But is it a lot slower than the more expensive Sapphire version?
I also looked a bit deeper in PSU's and uhh it's probaly a bad one but just to make sure is the https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/VS550-550-Watt-voeding/html/product/1149179?event=search any good or will that put my system in danger

Not really, all versions are pretty much the same, no point in spending anything more than 5-10$ for a different version. Also the 380x requires 550W psu. If you haven't bought this one yet I would suggest you get the Supernova G2 550W, but even that PSU won't damage your GPU or anything.

Do back plates even matter? I compared the XFX and Sapphire one. The only thing that is different is that the Sapphire one has more stream processors or something like that (i have no idea if that's good lol) The difference is 12 euro's and the budget is there so i might just get the sapphire one. i have a sapphire card right no aswell. By the way i have the Sapphire r7 260x now. That's gonna be a big improvement am i right?
