Hi

My Graphics Card (Radeon HD 7850) is a little to slow and need a update.
I have thought about GTX 970/960 or R9 390/380.

Which card will be best value for money and fit my old parts.

My computer:
XFX Radeon HD 7850 core edition - 2 gb.
CPU: i5 3570/3.4
Ram: 2x4gb DDR3 1600MHz pc3-12800
Power: Cooler Master GC Lite 700W
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LX - ATX

Thanks

The question should be:

R9 390 vs GTX 970
OR
R9 380 vs GTX 960

Those are the proper levels of comparison.

the R7 370 would compare to the GTX 950

Their order of strength is:
R9 390
GTX 970
R9 380
GTX 960
GTX 950
R7 370

Go for r9 390 as it's the same price for gtx 970 but the good thing is that r9 390 is 8gb ddr5 where gtx 970 is 3.5g ddr5 plz if your in USA then do buy r9 390 as only in USA amazon r9 390 is cheaper by few dollars then gtx 970 so you get 8gb fully usable and gtx 970 although 4gb but it can only utilize 3.5 GB....if you have any doubts check Linux take on gtx being 3.5gb card as other 500 mb are slow memory which means it's good for nothing

Don't even think about other option as r9 390 is the beast and future proof maybe for decades to come

I would have bought r9 390 but I ain't in USA and in my country's amazon it's like 500$ and gtx 970 is 400$ so unfortunately I will have to opt gtx 970....BTW I'm upgrading from xfx hd 6850 and no matter what company you choose don't select xfx as few years ago they were big in the market but now they are dying breed so you don't wanna stuck with them

Unfortunately, I live in Europe and have just discovered that I can not buy R9 380 with 8 gb but only 4GB.

My psu http://
M / B 24 pins x 1
CPU 4 + 4 pins x 2
PCI-e 6+2 pins x 4
SATA x 6
Peripheral 4 pins x 3
Floppy 4 pins x 1

Games no specifik FPS RPG etc Fallout4, Skyrem heroes of the storm.

Budget MAX the price of GTX 970 and R9 380 but if GTX 960 g R9 370 is ok then is ok to save the money.

For some reason, I thought you were considering an R9 390, not a 380. Look at these benchmarks to compare between an R9 380 and a GTX 970:

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5057209 <- GTX 970, 3dmark Fire Strike Score 9271

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5343344 <- R9 380, Score 6912

As you can see the 970 is much faster than the 380. The 970 probably uses less power as well. If you can get the 970 without stretching your budget, I'd definitely recommend it over the 380.

Thanks for the answers. I think that I will go for the r9 390 it cost around 20$ more in my country then gtx 670 and sounds like a better deal. And forget all about the r9 370.
