Hi there, i am building a new PC an just bought a GTX 970. I Have a solid build and i felt i would be wasting money on the gtx 980. I am thinking about buying a ASUS ROG PG278Q, witch is a 1440p, 144 Hertz and G-sync.
I may or may not SLI my GTX 970 the next year and i want to know if the gtx 970 can handle this monitor. I want to play at least at 60 fps.
I im consedering this monitor because it will have space for future upgrade (while an 1080p wouldnt) and cuz i am looking forward for higher resolution.

Am i doing the right thing? Can use this monitor at 1080p if the gtx 970 cant handle it? Please help, sorry for any bad english

I have been thinking the same..do I go PG278Q and new GPU or not. If I do then I'd have to buy the 980. The performance isn't quite there with the 970. And the monitor costs $800, plus new $600 GPU. ouch. But I am starting to think that is the reality..as much as I don't want to.

If you stick to 1080p then a 970 will be overkill...meaning it will last you 2 years.
