I've just gotten a GTX 970 refurb (4GD5T OC) of newegg for 220$ CA, a great deal imo. Since the card is refurbished, I only get a 3 mo warranty as opposed to the 3 yr offered by new cards from the manufacturer. Since this is off Newegg's eBay store, I cannot purchase their extended warranty.

So, my questions are, what is the likelihood or this card failing? Is it worth spending an extra ~80$ for a newer card with it's full warranty?

Huge mistake... To compare gtx 1060 is pretty much = gtx 980
Well u got crazy price in Canada.. I would personally pay extra to get 580 or 1060 even 3gb. You will get pretty much the same or higher performance/dollar anyway and with good warranty too.
