Hello
I have had this GTX 970 for nearly 4 years and in the last year occasionally it will just say "no video input" and I had to do really random things like remove the cmos, swap ram around etc. But since a few days ago I have been unable to fix it, nothing I normally do is working.
I saw that driver's may be causing the issue so I deleted them earlier, then reinstalled ram, cleared cmos and restarted, then I went to device manager and clicked view hidden devices and my Gtx970 was there! Unfortunately the guide I was reading told me to uninstall it and now I still get no video input, can't install drivers (without gpu) and can't view it in hidden devices...
I really cannot understand the significance of the fact that it did appear in the list of hidden devices, does that mean it is still alive? What can I do to fix this? I desperately do not want to buy a new GPU due to the price gouges atm, this gtx970 is worth now more second hand than it was when I bought it new...
Thanks a lot.

What do you mean by putting in 4x slot? my 970 has 2x6 PCIE-E pins so it wouldn't work I am pretty sure, cancelled my order gonna buy a new PCI-E cable first just in case.
i mean pcie 16 slot but 2.0 ... 3.0 is 16 and 2.0 is 4 ... or well i was mistaken a bit .. now i found it has 8gbps and 3.0 16 gbps...

official gigabyte specs
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
therefore i wrote it like that

try to put it in different PC ... i just had this problem with my rx580... my pcie x16 stoppedworking so i had to put it in pcie x4
next step is disassembly and checking for burned of components

in my case i didnt test it first in another pc and i ended up buying new PSU :D :) had 450w bronze now i have 650W gold so i dont cry about that

I have no PC to test it in, not for 3 weeks at least, but I don't think it is the rest of the PC because it happened when I had my old motherboard, processor and ram but same GPU and still happened after upgrading ram processor and motherboard.

yes fans were spinning but no post ... put it in friends pc ..posted ... bought 450W->650 W psu .. no post
before that repasted checked everything with voltmeter on card ...
then tried to put it in x4 slot .. posted .... now i have better fps(then before when i had problems...***) on gpu based games (apex legends) and 30% worse on cpu based (csgo)

*** my problems started few moths before .. maybe after like 2 moths after i put it in pc after 2nd hand purchase from mild gamer he went for 5700xt
so i really tought and read many posts about rx580 ... suddenly crashing pc sometimes output goes out for few seconds ...
i tought is about temperature spikes so i was running very hard fan speeds from like 40 C on 100% ... but it still happened in some cases .... like opening crate in apex ... or sudden massive explosion in some war based games with many particles ...
after putting it in pcie x4 i had no problems ,- 0 -, none ...
but i know the performance is lower not bad low but noticeably lower ... i almost got used to it ... like i said in games not CPU hard all is OK ...
the pciex16 may also be CPU issue i know
