GTX 970 or GTX 980ti

So my plan was to build a new computer and im stuck thinking about graphics card wheter to buy a 980ti which is almost double the price of 970.
I would'nt want to go with SLI

if you have the cash to spend, and are willing to splash out a little bit, go ahead and buy the 980ti.

your better off waiting a few weeks on the gpu then picking up the newer pascal gpu that fits your build funds. if you get a z chipset mb if one pascal 1070 is too slow then you can sli them.

It depends on what resolution you're using also. If it's just 1080p then you might not get everything out of the 980Ti. But if you go 1440p, then go 980Ti. But I'd say get the 980Ti anyway because it is a better card. Just said the resolution thing so that you know.

I play with 1080p

if you play on 1080p, I don't see why you need anything more than a 970, its an excelent 1080p video card.

1080p 60Hz or 120/144Hz? If 60Hz the 970 does such a good job it's hard to justify spending more, if 120/144Hz then the 980Ti is far better and you can really use the extra power

^ Agreed, but a few other points:
For a full, new, build I'd seriously suggest you spend the extra on a GTX980Ti, it'll last far longer and opens up both VR and Gsync as possible future upgrade options as well as having the power to drive a conventional 1440 display.
Your timeframe is very important here, Nvidia should have some Pascal parts available by June this year so holding off, at least until we get some solid benchmarks in for these new parts may be your best option.
