GTX 970 Power cables

GTX970 requires two 6-pin PCIe connectors. Your supply offers two 8-pin connectors. An 8-pin connector is equivalent to a pair of 6-pin.

You should buy a set of 8-pin to 8-pin and a set of 8-pin to 6-pin. and possibly a set of 8-pin to dual 6-pin. That way you prepare yourself for potential upgrades.

You will need one CPU power, an 8-pin to 4+4 pin connector for maximum flexibility.

Standard kit should work (though it doesn't have any 8-pin to 6-pin connectors, but that is just for neatness):

How about extension cables instead of EVGA power cables? The Bitfenix/NZXT ones.

Thank you for the fast answer. I'm buying them through amazon, so the choice isn't that big (I'm from europe, so amazon.co.uk). I'm not 100% on which 970 I'm getting, or even if I'm getting it at all/skipping to the next series. That's where the problem comes. If I get the 970, I think I'll get the Gigabyte G1 or the Asus one (if it has a backplate).

I have this one for the motherboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00I96L3GC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

And I'd rather not buy a whole kit, because I only need the GPU, motherboard and maybe the CPU one.

EDIT: Yes, extention cables would be better since my PSU is only semi-modular.
EDIT2: These ones seemed like the best, but they don't have 6+2 cables.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=Powercool%20pcie

So you think I should buy an 8pin to 8 pin and a 6pin to 6pin extension just to be safe for future upgrades?

EDIT: Just remembered that my current card has 2 6pins (I'm using 2 stock 6+2pins, but the +2 is hanging on both of them), so I think I'll just get two 6pin to 6 pin and one 8pin to 8pin and I'll be future proof. I guess.

if know this is quite late.
what about the CX600M? I currently use a MSI GTX 970 and it has 1 8 & 6 pin slot. i use a (x2 6pin+2) to 8 pin that came with the power supply and connected it to the 8 pin PCI-E slot. I plan to buy the bitfenix 8pin PCI-E and 6pin PCI-E cable and i was wondering if I could connect the 6pin to the peripherals 6 pin slot (thats what i think it is). The PSU is currently being occupied by the GPU (8 pin PCI-E slot) and the HDD (6 pin peripherals slot), leaving me with 2 6pin peripheral slots.
