Tonight something happened to me which hasn't happened before and I don't know if I should consider it a fluke or what, but I got an error when rendering a 3D scene in 1440p(the typical resolution I render in)
that read something along the lines of:
Open GL Driver Error
Unable to recover from kernel exception. The application must close.
Error code 3(subcode 2)
This has never happened before and I've done at least 30 renders with this program (Daz3D Pro 4.9)
with no issues at all.
I use Iray and during this particular render I noticed something strange. My GPU dropped out of the rendering process where normally the render would be split between my CPU and GPU, my CPU ended up doing it all after the error occured.
After the program closed itself I relaunched it and everything was normal again and proceeded to do 2 renders with no issue.
Relevant system specs:
EVGA GTX 970 SSC(stock clocks that it shipped with)
Intel i7 4790K
Seasonic 760W Platinum PSU
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
NVIDIA Driver 362.00 (What I and many others consider to be the last solid driver)
Why did this happen and should I be concerned? I play games on this machine as well as doing the rendering and I have never seen this error before.
Please advise!
