Gtx 970 sli vs 1070

I have been reading a bit on the Internet which is best of a 1070 or 970 sli and everyone says 1070 is better. But then I came over this video so now I'm really unsure of what to buy.

if you currently have a 970 and can get a good price 970, go for 970 sli
otherwise, go for 1070

It probably won't matter unless you have an i7-xxxx and game at 1440p/144Hz. What are your system specs?

are you deciding if you should get additional 970 and SLI or just get a new 1070? .

given nvidia's record of tanking performance on its older generation of GPUs using poor driver and GameWorks, i would say go for the 1070.

but to answer your question, 970 SLI will be better than 1070 by a LOT, provided nvidia does not tank their drivers like they did with 960 performing better than 780Ti (??)
