Hi guys, i´m with certain doubts about which GPU should i get..
I´m kinda worried about my PSU (CX600M), i don´t know if it will handle the r9 390(in the gigabyte site, it says that a minimum 600W psu is required for the r9 390)
The cards in my country cost around the same price ( 379 euros both from gigabyte).
I´ve read that the 970 can beat an stock 980 if overclocked properly, but i don´t know if it will be worth the investement because of the limited 3,5gb + the other 500mb which are slower and seems to stutter in games when reached., and considering the games currently, i don´t know if it the VRam will be enough for future titles.
So what would you recommend me to go?
I plan to play at 1080p and keep the card for the next 2-3 years.

My system specs:
i5 3450
8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz(4X2)
CX600M (will it handle the R9 390?)
Mother board: Asus P8H61-M
GTX760(current GPU)

Solution
I have a very similar system to you and just went for a 390.

1) It is a fantastic card but we are at a time when games seem to favour certain cards. The 390 is better in some titles (FC4 for example) but Fallout favours the 970. Although I play at 1440p on the 390 with the game maxed (god rays low) and it runs at 60 average. Blops3 average of 55 maxed at 1440p with 2xAA. Above 1080p and the 390 starts to make more sense (I often see 3-5gb VRAM in games).

2) If you have the money to afford a 280£ card, the power it uses shouldn't matter as long as your PSU supports it. I have never understood the obsession with efficiency in this scenario. Yes the 390 is hungry but it's fine.

3) The Cx600 is not great quality. Total system draw will...
If you are concerned about your PSU then go for the 970 as it has a MUCH lower power consumption figure.

3) The Cx600 is not great quality. Total system draw will be around 410watts with an OC on the I5 (+4 bins) and the 390 (approx.) So a good quality 600-650 is fine.

4) make sure your case is well ventilated. I have the MSI and it keeps the card cool but puts a lot of heat into the case.

5) forgot to mention, its worth putting an OC on your RAM or getting some higher speed rated. The 3450 keeps up fine with the card but I saw a 5-8 fps increase in some games at 1440p going from 1333 to 2000mhz RAM (notably Blops 3, FC4 and Fallout).
