no , Gtx 970 had only 3.5 GDDR5 memory and not 4GB for real. and it will slow down once the game asks for more than 3.5GB

Look for used GTX 1060 6GB of GDDR5 ram OR AMD 580 with 4GB or 8GB , and dont buy any card with lower than 4GB of GDDR5 ram.

That is baloney. It was by far the best medium to high end graphics card at the time. And it absolutely did have 4GB of ggdr5 memory.

That said, I would be hesitant to buy a used graphics card. It is up to you.

The only controversy was that 0.5 GB wasn't the same Samsung memory. It still totaled 4GB.

And regardless of that it dominated every single graphics card comparison at that price point.:bounce:

not really , most people paid more and got the 980 or switched to AMD for that 3.5/4GB GB lie from nvidia .

and modern games need 4GB of GDDR5 and that card with 3.5 only is not a recommended card today.

becareful that once any game needs more than 3.5 GB of Vram it will slow down and there is no way to disable the slow .5 GB Vram on GTX 970 ...

yes it will be good if the game needs are under 3.5GB but once you use all that out it will go down miserably slow. and reviews were written before the Scandal of 3.5 GB of Vram was discovered.
