Hey guys, wasn't sure on the wording of the title but basically, I just installed GTX 980, when I boot the PC, my monitor enters power save, the PC boots fine without display, i can tell by the HDD, RAM led's, and I can press power button and the system shuts down, however there is no display at all, not even the BIOS. I can get display from the onboard graphics.

The GTX 980 is definitly recieving power, if I unplug the DVI, the monitor will bring up the "connect DVI" message, so to me it seems like it's in a constant stand by/power save mode?

I have removed all previous drivers from my Radeon 7950 cards.
I have updated to latest BIOS (Asus P8Z68 Pro)
I have 1000W OCZ PSU

Any ideas? This is the Palit 980 GTX and I can't test anything other than DVI because it uses Mini-HDMI and Mini-Display Ports which I don't have.

Thanks.

No but I'll try it now.

I'm a bit concerned, I don't know if the 980 could be faulty, it's sitting in the PCI/E slot while I am running onboard for now, but windows is not even detecting new hardware or an unknown device, which seems unusual to me.

I ran the DDU, it seemed to remove a bunch of things, detecting Radeon 7900 series, but after rebooting, still just a black screen.

The motherboard is Asus P8Z68, it's PCI/E 3.0 and I am sure it is capable of working with a 980GTX..so I am a bit bewildered!
