Question gtx 980 shutting down

hi i recently got my hands on a friends msi gtx 980 that was not looked after well. his iao water cooler leaked on the back of the gtx 980 resulting in some caps falling off and damage pcie pins (gpu was left for a year without beaning cleaned ) but after all that gpu still works booting in windows and installing drivers. after a min or to two with a load on it the gpu it will shutdown but not the pc. thinking not enough voltage is going to gpu i got the card at a lower power stage but still shutting down

throw it in the trash can or sell on eBay for parts

is there really nothing i can do dis is quite a upgrade from my current gpu (r9 280 gigabyte)

Those contacts are extremely corroded. There is nothing you can do.
