Title basically explains it all. My 980 Ti is averaging about 45 fps on graphics test 1 on 3DMark Firestrike, when it used to be between 95-105 fps. I installed the latest drivers, and even reinstalled my OS, but nothing helps. This started a few days ago.

well I used several drivers I'm on the 355.82 now with the latest PhysX installed as well I see now why NVidia had a lot of issues and complaints over all the drivers for /with 900 cards none work . like one guy commented '' seems NVidia breaks more then they can fix''

just for fun I found this PhysX bench and heres how it ended up as well

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: PLAGame.exe
Application Version: 0.0.0.0
Application Timestamp: 5253bedf
Fault Module Name: PhysXCore.dll

see the trend ??? PhysX [ gpu ] MSI korrnbuster = failed - pla PhysX bench = fail darkest of days game hevey on PhysX = periodic crash under certain high useage maps

pla bench

can a 980ti run crysis with out issue ? =fail [lol]

wish I could get that 3DMark Firestrike all ways gets arounfd 50% down loads and fails or closes like it was download complete and not

just to update I fixed that pla PhysX test and now runs great but the MSI cornbuster PhysX 3 fluids [GPU] test lock my gpu clocks at 520 and the memory clocks at 1620 and will not release the card with out a reboot to get back to normal clocking speeds ??

that's the only test it locks the clocks now ??

made a discovery instead of a reboot I went to device manager and display device - properties - driver - disable [disables the driver ] then enabled the driver back and all went back to normal on the cards clocks ??

65 oC @59% load? that seems a little high. I get better temps at 100% load with a 4.6GHz OC as well. try going down on that CPU OC a little and try again.

Same a reboot as far as the card/drivers are concerned.

I think it was falsley running low clocks because it didn't think it needed to, like the load wasn't high enough although it plainly was.

its funny how I stumbled on to this thread on the clocks never had that stuck on a low clock until I tried to replicate ? that fluids test aint right and don't matter how I set it up you hit RUN and card goes to 540mhz and locks on that and pnly way to get the card from being stuck solid on that low clock is to disable the driver and enable it back and then the card is working as normal ???

''65 oC @59% load? that seems a little high. I get better temps at 100% load with a 4.6GHz OC as well. try going down on that CPU OC a little and try again. ''

that could be due to the -0- fan control built in to the cards bios fooling you on that ?? have you set up a custom fan curve profile ???

I got a hybrid so my temps are 22/45c - I'm going to try today to see if a buddy will download 3DMark Firestrike on to a pendrive for me . still cant get any download of it to fully complete .

I sure want to run that test 1 and see how this card behaves on it

no not the same all you do is reboot the driver not the whole computer same result but a lot quicker and keep your spot at desktop

then if you hit any of the perfcap like I was saying above the card cant draw the volts needed to sustain the clocks its going to downclock the card to the highest safest level

so if you got it oc'ed for 1400 and it cant get voltage for that it will drop to something it can run at and you may see it running at 1295 or what ever

theres a lot on this with Maxwell and why quite a few do the bios tweaks with a editor [not that I recommend you do this ]

maybe a example from here

'' but I am already seeing heavy down clocking, from 1418MHz to 1359MHz in Firestrike''
