Hi i want to upgrade my gpu ... worth to wait for the gtx 1080 ti pascal or buy an gtx 980 ti ...
Also my cpu is an i5 4460 and i will think to upgrade in the feature . how much bottleneck will i get with this cpu ?

I hope there will be a 1080TI sooner than a "years time" frame. I currently have a SLI 980TI setup, but since the 1080 is still using GDDR5, I am skipping it. I want HBM v2! :)

I am "hoping" that the 1080TI will be using the HBM

GTX 1080 is using GDDR5X, and is up to two times as efficient. Already a big difference. Seems very powerful too.

Indeed, but HBM2 is 8x more efficient than GDDR5X and 16x more efficient than GDDR5. It also uses way less power and produces way less heat.

might not be alot faster... I remember thinking that too... now we have incredible gpus costing less drawing less and giving more..

Hey,
I would say wait for the gtx 1080ti and take a look at it's benchmarks! And compare it with the 980ti, when the gtx 1080 comes out the price of the 980ti will drop substantially! Anyways, the 1080 will obviously outperform the 980ti by a large amount. I am expecting the 980ti to drop to about 400US $, depending on your budget you could get a 2 way SLI with the 980ti for the same price as the gtx 1080 which will obviously do much more that the 1080 itself for about 100$ more can't give a clear cut price. At the end of the day it's best if you wait for the 1080 to come take a look at the prices benchmarks compare the 980ti and 1080 if the differences are huge then go for the 1080. If you can afford 2 980ti when the gtx1080 comes as I said earlier the 980ti price will drop like crazy! and run them in 2 way SLI, check for the benchmarks with the 2way SLI for 980ti vs the gtx 1080 then decide on which you want to get. Hope this helps.

Please make new threads for questions like that! But that's simple, only GPUs of the same model and vram capacity can be SLI'd at the moment. Ie, multiple 980s or multiple Titans. Dx12 has promise of a point in time when we can SLI anything, and AMD's Crossfire supports that type of mix and match with their own cards. If your dead set on the SLI of a 780ti and a 1080, you can look into the project "DifferentSLI Auto" By Ember here - https://github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto. Hope that helps!

Also, you forgot to mention that AMD has never had a CPU that was superior to an Intel "equivalent" (lol?) This is not going to change, ever. AMD does not have the depth of pockets to beat Intel at Research and Development, or Manufacturing, or anything else. AMD is and always will be a less expensive alternative to top shelf Intel parts.

That being said, for some users needs, AMD will suffice just fine and may be more inline with tighter budgets, but waiting on an upgrade in hopes that AMD's new offering is going to dominate the current Intel cpus is pretty ridiculous.

you win the "got trolled" award for the day 😀

of course it's not real. the card does not exist and certainly not at walmart where i have not see any pc parts stocked in a very long time. they still carry hdd's and peripherals but that's all i have seen in a store in years.

dude's trolling and you were caught hook, line and sinker

Bro I was asking him if he was serious cuz I wanted to see if he was actually being stupid or being a troll. I was also being sarcastic. Not being trolled today m8. Also on a more serious level do you think the 1080ti will be released early 2017?
