Hi all
I got hold of a GTX980 from a friend - new and unused, some 3-4 years old in the box. I am having problems installing it. When I insert the card and fire up the PC the computer doesnt want to post, I just get nothing on screen from my existing MB HDMI (I am not even trying to use the 980 at this stage). Take the card out and the PC boots fine again. For some reason the PC is not liking the card being there.
I did try to install it earlier but stupidly hadnt fixed the power VGA leads into the card correctly. The PC was happy with the 980 at that stage, although the setup process wouldnt recognise any card.
Not sure why the PC doesnt now like the 980 being installed at all. A BIOS issue maybe?
I am running an Asus 97-A, 4790k, EVGA 550 G2
