I have searched every where, and I know some threads answer this (sorta). But I really want to know if my 800 watt psu is enough to power two Msi 980ti's. I want to know if it's not enough. And if it would make the psu louder by pushing it too hard or something similar. My specs are Intel 17-5820k over clocked to 3.4 gigahertz (liquid cooled), and 1 gtx 980 ti (Msi). Please help:??:

Each nvidia GTX 980 TI draws around 280W at maximum performance and the two sli GTX 980 TI draw 590W. As you are overclocking Your i7-5820k then 800W PSU will be enough for your rig. But if it is a good quality Power Supply.Hope this might help you https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_980_Ti_Gaming/28.html

Nvidia* recommends a decent 850w for 980ti SLI :) Quality 850w - 1000w PSU unit is recommended for 980 ti SLI

From the wall... Assuming it's pulling 388W at the wall socket, then 80% efficient PSU = .8*388 = 310.4 total system. Crysis that is: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9306/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti-review/17

They do that to cover themself, not because it's the bare minimum. I'm not against a 750W-800W PSU, because it won't make a difference anyways, but if it means spending more money, without getting better quality, then going with less is better, for efficiency as well. Too many people spread misinformation regarding power supplies, anandtech which I listed, is measuring at the wall socket, completely different than actual draw...

Anandtech used a 80+ platinum PSU for that test, so efficiency is going to 90+%, not 80%.

Maximum power draw for stock 980 ti is 277 W (presumably at the wall). They used 80+ gold PSU, so efficiency ~90%, means around 250W actual power use. That means, worse case scenario, stock 980 Ti SLI can draw 500 W. Then add the rest of the system.
