I have the Asus P9X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 model MOBO and was wondering if I get a Titan X if there would be any types of bottlenecking? I also have a I7-3820 liquid cooled processor and 32 gb ram!
Uh...a Titan X runs everything maxed at 4K resolution which is 4x as much as "2k".
2K = 1920x1080p = ~2 million pixels
4K = 3840x2160p = ~8 million pixels.
Even 2 titan x in Sli cannot run everything in 4k on ultra (including max AA). For example A single titan x can run gta v on 4k on high settings with no aa, but going ultra with 8xaa and nvidia 2xtsaa and fps will drop too much.
So just to be more specific it can run most things in 4k at high settings but not everything at maxed settings. There are a lot of benchmarks out there (especially with poorly optmised games liek metro, bioshock infinite) that show even 2 x titan x with fps dropping into 20s or below in some more demanding games maxed @ 4k. However something of low demand like CS GO a single titan x will probably do liek 120 fps even with fully maxed settings.
You're forgetting that 8xAA is NOT needed for 4K. I count "ultra" as every single setting maxed at 4K except for AA. Anti-aliasing renders more than 4K. SLI Titan X runs many games maxed at 5K resolution dude.

AA wont make much difference for a small 4k screen, say 30 inches or less, since it will be so sharp anyway, but once we get to 40 inches or more with the pixels per inch getting less even with 4k res AA makes a visible difference. Sorry I assumed that 'everything maxed' meant everything including AA , but yeah i guess its just a matter of semantics.
I completely agree it runs most things at 4k and 5k maxed (like battlefield 4, grid 2), just not everything, e.g. something like say metro last night its drops to around 15 fps and rarely goes over 30. In bioshock infinite even with sli it stutters frequently with fps drops into the teens, it may be playable but nowhere near as enjoyable as smooth play. Same goes with gta v - it stutters (theres a guy on youtube with a downloadable 5k res video with an fps counter with 4x titan x sli and a super rig otherwise, and the fps plummets every 10-15 seconds, even without fraps/recording software). A lot of this may be optimisation issues, but the real world end result is that right now those games dont run smoothly maxed out at 4k.
