Gtx1070 1975+MHz factory?!

Just bought a new MSI GTX 1070 Armor edition... (Gorgeous card btw ) but is it crazy that I'm getting GPU core clocks of 1970+MHz?! With no overclock whatsoever?! Or is this somewhat normal.... Looking to overclock so I'm hoping I got a lucky gem of a GPU and can get even more performance out of it!

GPU Boost 3.0 is a beautiful thing, ain't it?

If you decide to overclock, you likely won't get much over 1975, maybe 50-100MHz, but that'd be about it.

Omg boost 3.0 is amazing right?! Lol I've seen stable overclocks reported as high as +225mhz and +600 mem

If you can push your 1070 to 2200MHz, you got a gem of a card. Otherwise, overclocking likely will only lead to around +100MHz on the core clock and of course there is the GDDR5x overclock that you can push as well.

I've heard 2100+MHz is a pretty difficult number for alot of cards... 2200mhz seems magical

That's why I said it would be a gem I've seen that most 1080s unless they are FE have an issue reaching 2100... which kind of points to cherry picking, which is aggravating, but that's the way the cookie crumbles, right?

Ya I know what u mean... Bean looking at the EVGA 1080 ftw hybrid.... Seems legit for a nice LAN rig. But I'm gonna do some oc work tonight and tomorrow and hopefully find some good numbers

Be careful with the current EVGA 1070/1080 cards, some of them are missing VRM pads. I would wait until the entire thing blows over and the RMA is finished before buying one, if you're going to.

The hybrid uses a copper plate VRAM design that is mated with the clc... No VRAM issue

Ya that's the only reason I'm leaning towards it... It's only $30 more and the factory water cooling will be nice as well. I mean my 1070 now doesn't get above 46c as it is

Well still working on the max overclock.... But as of right now I'm at 2231mhz on stock voltage with no artifacts or any problems whatsoever in my benchmark.... And still running a cool 57c lol gtx1070 armor the world!!!!
