msi gtx 670
Corsair Tx650m

The fan of the videocard had a problem, one of it was only working with 90% rpm, so i changed to other fan that i had here, the video card was at my desk, and the position was like if it was on the motherboard, and while i was taking the cables of it accidentaly dropped to the desk, and after it, everytime i open a game, it shuts down, i don't know what to do, there is no visable damage on the back, and still it doesn't work

if you can check if a capacitor is out of place or something is not as it chould it could be fixed oerhaps but in general sounds like the pcb is damaged and when load is applied, it fails

get a new one, sounds simpler, more expensive but simpler to do, since you already discovered that it had problems with fans, sounds like it is time to replace it

I live in brazil, so videocards are pretty expensive, the gtx670 costed me like 500$, and i bought it second hand from a friend this monday :<, i looked over the entire back of the pcb, and had nothing wrong with it, i'll disassembly it tomorrow and take a look on the capacitors

i live in colombia but a broken pc part is a broken pc part and it won't fix by itself, and you don't know what the damage is and if it decides to short circuit itself killing the mainboard and cpu

too big risk, better get a 1050ti, almost same performance and is cheaper, that card this days costs the same as the 1050ti

sorry to be this honest, but sometimes it is like this

If that's $500 in US dollars that is more than pretty expensive, that's a 4 year old card that should be worth maybe $100 in the US. It's not a bad card, especially considering the age, but in the $200 (US prices) range you have the 1060 which is quite a bit faster and is modern.

Yea i know, is so damn expensive, but is not actual dollar, i compare as if was, because is easier to explain how expensive it is for us, our salary is 880$ per month, minimum salary, and a 1060 is at range of 1100$ for the 3gb, and like 1300$ for the 6gb model, is not actual dollar is just easier to explain... on US is like 1500$ the minimum salary i guess? and the eletronics are so cheap, 200$ for a 1060, or 600$ for a 1080, the gtx 1080 here is like 3500$ XD

yes, the cost of the part in us and the cost here in south america are two very different things

usually for this kind of parts is the price plus 100 dollars thanks to transport, taxes and the premium it represents thanks to the fact that is a gpu for gaming mostly, so not everybody ask for one or has the money or the need for one

amazon and a decent transport company is the best bet sometimes, you can shave 50 dollars from the premium you pay on some circumstances, that is why op has problems accepting the idea, it is a money loos, a big one

the salary as he says, most of use earn 300 dollars per month or less, even less, a third or a half goes into food and public transport

imagine how much is left to buy pc parts you need or want, from there the pain and the dificulty of justify a new gtx 1060

Turns out that something with the other fan that i had, was shutting down the pc when trying to game, i tried the original fans, and now the videocard is working again, thanks for the help
