http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html. I'm not saying it is but your power supply is a tier 4 and may notactually be supplying all the power you need. If you have a friend that you can swap your gpu into their system and try it to see if its the same issue.. Or you could look for a tier 1 or 2 power supply and try it. It could be that the sytem stays on during gaming and when you stop the psu is uloaded and has an issue.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html This is a list of psu and the tiers. Gaming systems should always try and use a tier 1 or tier 2 you can get away with a tier 3 some times but usually on a base system. A tier 4 is never a good idea.

thank you for the info but ive told msi, frys electronics and micros center "experts" and they all said it more than enough and the minimum psu i need according to psu "calculaters" say id need a 503w minimum which this exceeds

and again ran gorgeousley for over a year no problem and i can literally game for 6 hours straight(which i did the fist day of the blade and soul beta) no problem at all

Yea that actually would make sense. Didn't know that was a bad PSU.

EDIT: What I think he is suggesting is the PSU probably went bad somehow and started has to cause these issues. It is enough power(since you're running games) but it might have an issue coming back from giving all that power.

hmmm... kind of like lifting heavy weight with out breathing, you can always get it up but end up passing out after the lifting is done...hmmm

Yea, maybe see if a friend has a psu or goto your local computer store and ask to try one of theirs? I just wouldn't buy one unit I knew the problem.

Like having a bad reaction to Viagra(kinda). You can get up, but coming down is an issue.

This is the thing with tier 4 psus they actually are not created equal. Even though you have what says 750 watts it may not be anymore or may after aging the caps became dirtier power than it started with. It also after aging could now be less power than it started with also. I'm not frys but i have been building computers since the 8088 processor and unlike frys I am not trying to sell you anything. A 750 wat t4 or t5 psu is not good now if you had a tier 1 psu like a seasonic 750 I would not mention this as the make nothing under a tier 2 psu. Yours was actually made by fsp which makes psus in all tiers. That is the difference between a t1 and a t4 it is made with solid reliable parts while a t4 is made with some iffy lower end caps ond other parts.
If you could borrow a psu a good one and try it this would at least eliminate it from the might be this list. The psu would also explain why you have no issue using the onboard video as it draws a ton less power.

Back when 10Mghz was good, before my time...

could be but for now i will contact msi tomorrow for an upgrade and if they do upgrade me ill be upgrading my psu to the corsair AX860i as well which im sure you'd approve of correct

Thats a great Psu but any quality 700-750 would also be fine if you have a budget The axi is nice and would alow you to sli in the future also and still have head room for overclocking. My friend runs 2 gtx 980Tis on an axi 760 Most recomend 850 but maybe he knows something I don't he seems to have no issues with it. I have an hxi 850 myself now and have had no issues you could go with a 750 hxi its platinum rated that is if you want to stick with corsair.
Anything made by seasonic is always a good choice such as xfx and others. Or seasonics own. The hxi series is channel well wich can make some good psus but that also make some crappy ones so thats why you really need to research the psu its the heart of the system and a good one can keep a lot of headaches away and a bad one can be frustrating as hell and could kill your whole system.

ok perfect ill take all this info into consideration but i will wait to update this until i talk to msi, so far their customer service has been out standing with only about 1 week turn around time per rma so i'm hoping they take care of me before i have to actually upgrade my psu(which i have not the money for at this time)

Ya budgetting always sucks I hope it works out for you. Like i said though any of the t1-t2psus would be great you don't have to over buy with an 850axi.
The rm series would be ok alsoin the 750 range if you are not going to sli in the future. If theres a posibility get an 850.
Good luck.
