Hello , i had this problem for so long, that i just cant anymore..
Problem is that, i play GTA 5, or Battlefield 1, or Forza Horizon 3 ,or Ghost Recon® Wildlands .

No matter which settings i have Medium, or High..
i got prety low fps, and the most annoying is Hicups every 5 or 10 seconds... its like stable 50-60fps.. And suddenly drops to 25 - 30 fps and fast goes up to 50 - 60 fps ... It`s really frustrated..
i cant enjoy my games, :(

Right now i`m playing AssasinCreed Unity (Lates patch v1,50) Ultra preset. stable 45-50fps. sometimes 1 hicup. but its utra rare.

But for games like, GTA 5, Battlefield 1, or other AAA+ , hicups is just so bad.. that i cant play..

Things i think what could be wrong..

1) My power cables might not be tight , or has problem.
2) Or my 1x 8GB ram has problems.. because its very old , from 2013.

My monitor is old 19inch LG.

playing on 1360x768 (using VGA Cable)

I builded my pc , 2016 , September .

CPU: i5-4690k @ 3.9GHz (STOCK speeds)
MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 3
GPU: MSI GTX 970 4G
PSU: Corsair RM650x
RAM: 1x 8GB HyperX Blu @ 1600Mhz
HDD : Western Digital Blue 1TB / 7200rpm.
SSD: Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD

Thanks - Evoo
I would really really appreciate help.. becaue i can't anymore play games... its just bad :(

Quick question. This might be dumb but do you have the vga cable to the graphics card or to the motherboard? I didnt have vga output on my gtx 970 when i had it. It was dvi.. If you have it connected to the motherboard.. you might be using your integrated graphics from your cpu vs your gtx 970 graphics card.

You can have the gtx 970 installed with drivers with msi burner on your computer.. but if your connection is not connected to your gpu than you are using cpu integrated graphics. Go buy a dvi to vga adapter and plug the cable to the Graphics card.

Also How are you connecting VGA to GTX 970??? I dont think GTX 970 comes with any VGA connection.

It could be over heating cpu integrated graphics card... Can you clarify you ARE using an adapter for your vga cable?

Uhm... yes.. its stable 60 - 62c on GPU. and CPU 60c to.

no more.
so i guessing its not problem with Temps.

Could it be ram? is there a way to test it?

No, im using GPU 970... Conneting via DVI and VGA... because my monitor is only VGA, so i have DVI adapter to my 970 and plugged in VGA to DVI.

You can check ram by going to search memory and should come up wit a diagnostic tool.
