Hello All,

I recently got my EVGA SC GTX 980 4gb, and it is performing fantastically. Everything hums along without a hitch, but I do have one minor problem with the card after a VERY SHORT time with it. I am struggling to get the display ports to work for video out.

The card only has one DVI port in which case I usually use two, so the display ports are what I plan on switching to. I am currently running one DVI and one HDMI, but would prefer it to be DVI and DP. Is there anything special that DP's require in order to get running that I am missing? System Specs below.

i7 4790k @ 4.5ghz
H80i AIO CPU Cooler
Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7 Mobo
16GB Team Xtream DDR3 @ 2400mhz
128GB SAN Disk SSD
480GB SAN Disk Extreme Pro SSD
1TB WD Black HDD
1TB Seagate 7200.10 HDD
Corsair HX850w PSU
GTX680 2GB (Physx)
GTX980 4GB (Main)
BenQ 2420TE 144hz 1080p Main Monitor
Rosewill Challenger Case
ASUS Optical Drive
Windows 8.1

Cheers!

Solution
The only thing you should need to do is make sure the MONITOR input is set to DisplayPort as the input.

Please verify that the following did or did not work:

1) Turn PC off and attach DisplayPort as the ONLY cable from the GTX980 to the monitor.

2) Turn on PC and Monitor

3) If no picture, check monitor settings to see if DisplayPort is selected and switch to it if it's not.
