Gtx980 stopped posting

Hi, I built my PC around a year ago and its been working great until yesterday when my GPU just stopped posting. I've tried switching cables and taking it out, when I connect the monitor to the motherboard it boots fine without the GPU. So what do I do

I switched pcie slots and now it posts from the motherboard with the GPU but it's not detecting the GPU at all.GPU fans and LEDs are on
