Hi Everyone! (I don't know where I should post this guide) In this thread I'm going to show you how we can overclock an OEM system (that means like Dell, HP, compaq, Gateway, etc) or basically systems that has locked motherboard that don't have overclocking setup or setting in its BIOS. Making overclock may be useful when you are wanting to increase the performance of components in a whole system without changing components and use your cash. I'm going to do it by a software called SetFSB for CPU and MSI Afterburner for GPU. You find more guides on overclocking a home-build system so I made this. Anyway this won't really improve performance like 50%, as the home-build system can be both overvolted and overclocked. This doesn't include overvolting.
First of all: DISCLAIMER!
WARNING! Do this at your own risk. Overclocking may void your warranty, may burn up your components, may fry up the whole system and kill your computer! So, I am not responsible for these after following the steps and again I remind Do this at your own risk!.
CPU
First step:
Know your motherboard model whether it's nForce or not. Mostly they are not, Like my system, but if you do, Scroll down to the last paragraphs. You know these by seeing the specification of your system model in the manufacturer's web page.
Second step:
Download SetFSB (Download link scroll down)
SetFSB is a program that can set the BCLK(Base Clock) of a processor.
Third Step:
Find your PLL. PLL is a component responsible for the FSB frequency. Basically it will be a rectangular component near to the clock crystal in the southbridge part of the motherboard. Here is how it would look like:
That on the left side is the clock crystal and the rectangle thing is the PLL.
Another way of finding PLL is you ask people who know what is it. Give your system Model number and tell them what is it. When you can't find it you must to do it the main way 🙁. (If you have HP like me that has MS 7525 (boston) motherboard your PLL is probably the same like me, which is RTM876-665)
Please make sure that you are really sure the PLL you know is your PLL. I know my PLL using the second way, so I am lucky.
Fourth Step:
Put up your PLL on the SetFSB 'clock generator' option. Search it and Find it over there. Then click 'get FSB', make sure your 'Ultra' check-box in unticked.
Something like this will appear out of grayed things:
Note: If you can't find your PLL there, you are out of luck. I do not recommend using the different FSB because it will most probably hurt the system.
Fifth Step:
Increase The upper Slider little by little, and click 'set fsb' repeat the step. You stop until you feel happy with the clock speed (It's displayed on the bottom there below 'Set FSB' and 'Auto'). Do not go too much, As BSOD will come. For me I will decrease it a little then the clock that I want so that I will get a stable system. But it is up to you, because some program actually may crash when they are run by a highly overclocked CPU.
Here is what I reached:
Sixth Step:
After getting your 'overclocked' speed, check your Frequency with CPU-Z CPUID (Download link scroll down). CPU-Z is a famous program used by overclockers or user to fully describe and show their computer specification showing their frequency and hardware components name. What you also need to do is try monitoring your components using Speedfan (Download link Scroll down). Speedfan is a simple and free software which will show your temperatures. Make sure your CPU Cores doesn't go above 65, because it signs that your CPU is too hot. What you do is go straight decrease the Slide on SetFSB.
Last Step:
Show your Overclocked CPU Result! You can use Cinebench (Download link scroll down), SiSoftware Sandra, etc. It is up to you.
I was able to Increase My cinebench score. But unfortunately I can't run SiSoftware.

GPU
Here I can't say much because my OEM system doesn't have discrete graphics (If you are too, you must to leave this step 🙁 I have found some Overclocking tools for IGP but they are not compatible on all IGP, only GMA 900 and 950 or something). But if you do, I recommend using MSI Afterburner (Download link scroll down). And Overclock your GPU. Regarding on 'how much should I overclock' things you can ask card owners on how much they overclock it.

nForce Users:
nForce motherboard doesn't have their PLL on them. They have it integrated on the motherboard I think. So you can't use SetFSB. What nForce users have to use instead is nTune. Download link scroll down.

I am sorry but I can't give you any advice because I am no a nForce user. Maybe Others do.
