Can anyone point me in the direction of a software that can tell me how bad my HDD is doing? I want to know if I can salvage mine for my new pc.
Thanks!
Thanks, this was a $300 pc 4 years ago, I got it from Best Buy so I doubt it is Seagate or WD.
Seagate and western digital Make a lot of white label HDDs for OEMs. It could easily be either even though it's a budget computer. I like HD Tune. Basically does the same as Crystal Disk. Reads the S.M.A.R.T. information then gives it to you, then you look up the error codes if any, there isn't anything that I know of that can give you an estimate of how much life is left on a HDD. But you can look for problems that might go from minor to major with the SMART info.
