Not sure why you want to swap to that CPU. You're asking in the PC Gaming forum, so I have to think gaming performance is of utmost importance. The 1700 only equals the 6700k at best, and in a lot of games loses to it. It would really only give you better performance for non gaming related tasks, where heavy threading comes into play.

Anyway, your RAM is going to have to be DDR4 on the new MB, and preferably 3200, because Ryzen needs fast RAM. The video I posted uses 3600 RAM, and the 1700 still lags behind on some games.
