h80i setup problems

so ive setup my h80i but for some reason i have had to plug on of the fan power cables into my motherboard and i now cat run the other one, now all the videos i have watched show them pluging the fan power cables into the y shaped cable tht has 2 connections on one end and the other end goes into your cpu fan pins and a sata power cable, but i can not for the life of me work out how those fan power cables are meant to connect to the spare to connections on the y shaped cable.

I've had the same problem with the h100i. From the fan cable, I pulled mine off. There is a cover that you can take off if you are connecting to a y cable. Maybe this can help

The fans connect to the y shaped cable then the cable plugs into the water block that goes onto the CPU:

My H100i had covers on the y cable so remove those first.

Then the three pin goes to the CPU header on the motherboard and of course a SATA plug for the power.

No problem. I did a lot of H100 and H100i setups at a old job and never had the covers. I bought one for myself and it had these covers and even threw me for a loop at first.
