H81-Gamer + i5 4590

Yo!
So I have been collecting pc parts for my new build and I was wondering if the intel core i5-4590 haswell works with the motherboard ill be purchasing which is an Asus H81-Gamer. I don't have a lot of money to buy a better motherboard but I just wanted to make sure if the cpu and mobo are compatible or I need to work for a better one.

yeah it will work pretty well. that motherboard looks pretty solid for its chipset and age.

Get an i5 4460 and a decent H97 board. Yes, the H81 board will work with the 4590, but the perfomance gain over the 4460 is minimal.

Plus, I can tell you from experience it is better to get a good quality motherboard. Before I knew much about custom building computers, I listened to the salesman and got an ASUS H81M-C motherboard. Now, a year later, my PC is currently in for a motherboard replacement since it randomly decides to shut down the PC and tries to overclock my 4130 by itself 😀 and won't stop even when I rest the BIOS to defaults (and updated it, too.).

Long story short, get a good motherboard to avoid problems with it later on. Get the i5 4460, I garantuee you won't have much of a difference (+- 5 FPS Max.), if any at all.

Thanks but I would like to stick in my decision, even if my pc gets into errors after a year or so by that time I would have enough money to buy a better good quality motherboard. Thanks again for helping, appreciate it man 😉
