I have an extra Huawei eg8145v5 modem and a Palm 1727 xc 11 1 MIMO antenna lying around. The eg8145v5 doesn't have a slot for external antenna but what can I do to hack the two together to make a long range Wi-Fi?

Edit : I don't have experience about soldering parts and don't have any tools for soldering

From the descriptions I can find for that antenna it was a cellular (LTE) antenna. It probably was not designed to work at WIFI frequencies.

What are you trying to accomplish.

At first I thought maybe you were trying to use that antenna to connect to a mobile broadband provider. We see people asking about doing that with huawei modems all the time but the device you link is actually a fiber ONT connected router.

That antenna will not work for wifi. In addition it is a directional antenna.

I am not sure the wifi antenna on the huawei are removable...most times they are. You might be able to replace the antenna but in general the antenna are matched to the wifi radio chips. Putting larger antenna on does increase the signals but it also increases the garbage interfering signals. The total energy received might be too much for the microwave amplifier so it will actually have more issues extracting the good signal you want from the trash.

But again what are you trying to accomplish. There are other methods to improve the wifi coverage in your house.

I was wondering if the two can be hacked together so I can connect to the home wi-fi which is 40-50m away.

Yeah, the huawei was a modem from the previous fiber ISP and the MIMO was from a mobile one.

Edit: I don't need it to be fast, just enough that I can stream YT and surf

No. You can't "hack" it together. Especially without soldering tools and skill.
Just buy a directional WIFI bridge. A Ubiquiti Nano M2 or similar.
The best answer is to buy a PAIR of directional devices and put one on the house and one on the receive location 50m away. This assumes that there is a direct line of sight. If there is another building between the source and receiver then it won't work.
